Who sees what?
A role decides two things: what a person may do (permissions) and whose records they see (Sees).
Setup → Roles has a Permissions table and a Roles table. Add role makes a new one.
The role form
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Code | Capital letters, numbers and _, 2 to 20 characters |
| Name | |
| Level (1 = field) | 1 to 9. 1 is a rep, 2 to 8 are managers, 9 is an admin |
| Sees | Own, Team, Region or zone, or Everyone |
| In the field | Whether people in this role make calls |
| Dashboard panels | Which dashboard panels the role sees (Choose dashboard panels) |
Sees
| Choice | Whose records |
|---|---|
| Own | The person, and everyone who reports to them at every level |
| Team | The same as Own |
| Region or zone | The above, plus everyone in their region or zone and the zones under it |
| Everyone | The whole company |
So a rep with no one under them sees only their own work, and a manager sees their whole tree, whichever of Own or Team the role has. Region or zone adds the people in the area even when they report to someone else.
The same rule decides the dashboard, the reports, the approval lists and the people you can pick.
Permissions
Tick or untick a box in the Permissions table; it saves at once.

A new company gives every role: see dashboards, plan and report own calls, submit own plan, see and add doctors, request leave. Managers (levels 2 to 8) also get reports, team calls, joint calls, plan review, approvals and assigning doctors. Admins (level 9) get everything.
